Time’s up for the straitjacket of legacy IAM

Time’s up for the straitjacket of legacy IAM

There are clear signs of growing frustration among enterprises when it comes to IAM solutions.

They are frustrated by continued consolidation, forcing upsells while innovation fails. They are frustrated by the straitjacket of outdated IAM technology limiting their ability to serve their customers - that is also impossible to get out of. They are frustrated by the complacency shown by many vendors who talk about innovation and offer the same solutions they did 10 years ago.

As a veteran of this industry, I completely agree with them. Is this the best we can do? Of course not.

I have found few in the industry that have enough perspective to recognise the challenge and the significant opportunity for innovation - that customers are screaming for. I have met even fewer who see the solution from the same lens as I do.

As a serial entrepreneur, I’ve learnt that when you find people that share your vision and commitment to it, you hang on to them. To that end, I am thrilled to announce that IndyKite is acquiring 3Edges, and will be welcoming the 3Edges team, led by Derek Small, to IndyKite.

Our shared philosophy and vision for the market made it an obvious choice to combine forces and present an even better offering to IndyKite and 3Edges customers. The addition of 3Edges will help us deliver more disruptive capabilities that enable customers to safely use and control their data. This includes a modern graph-driven approach to authorization that can handle complexity without requiring expensive implementation projects - a pain point we have heard from all corners of the market, especially following recent consolidations (*cough* pingrock *cough*).
